Xibalba Mérida Attractions

Xibalbá is one of the most interesting projects being developed in Mérida. It is a thematic part belonging to the Xcaret group of parks and hotels, which will have as its main inspiration the Underworld of the Mayans, so that tourists can enjoy an authentic experience, while learning more about this culture.

What can you see in Xibalbá?

In Xibalbá you will have some natural attractions, such as the cenotes, as there will be just over eight of them. In addition, through a type of interconnected canal you can access another number of cenotes in which to swim or kayak.

They will also have a series of spaces to honor the Mayan villages found in the Yucatan Peninsula. Thus, you will be able to learn more about the culture, customs and the type of folk crafts they make.

Within Xibalbá you will also find a rock cathedral that many tourists find particularly interesting, as well as a large aviary that follows the tradition of the aviaries built in the xcaret parks. In this case, it will be home to more than three thousand different species of birds.

This park is located, specifically, 180 kilometers from Mérida, in the town of 8Yacoba and will have the capacity to accommodate approximately 2,000 people daily. It is a giant of the Xcaret group that joins the activities and tasks to publicize the importance of the Mayan culture in Mexico and the world.

Finally, the Xibalbá project closes with the construction of three prestigious hotels that will have more than 30 rooms each, where park visitors can stay. The possibility of building cabins that can accommodate a greater number of people, enjoying the culture and the locality, is even being evaluated.
